Some Color
This is a big win for DraftKings, because it becomes the very 1st operator to launch a mobile app in New Jersey, beating MGM to the punch even though it said that it would be 1st in the Garden State. DraftKings decided long ago that it would shift resources to focus on owning the sports betting market and, despite not making headlines for major partnerships (i.e. MGM with the NBA) or M&A (i.e. FanDuel with Paddy Power Betfair), DraftKings is now in the driver’s seat, at least in New Jersey.
